About This Restaurant

Bun & Blanket is a burger truck parked permanently outside Paperback Brewery in Glendale, which makes it less a mobile caterer than a kitchen with a fixed address and no dining room. Its own banner reads “Best. Damn. Burgers. Period.” — their claim, not ours.

It was founded in 2022, and its own telling is specific about who by: co-founded by a classically trained chef and his business partner and childhood friend, two people the site calls foodies working out how to fold Los Angeles' most recognisable flavours into a burger.

The menu bears that out, and the through-line is a stuffed patty rather than a stacked one. The three stuffed burgers are $15 each. The Gogi-Gooey is bulgogi beef stuffed inside a thick patty under American cheese, kimchi slaw, green onions and a house gochujang aioli. The Quesabirria is guajillo- and ancho-marinated braised beef stuffed into the patty with Pepperjack, a cilantro-onion slaw, radish, house-made salsa and Mexican crema, served with a side of consommé to dip. The Cali Juicy Lucy stuffs aged cheddar and American cheese into the patty and finishes it with caramelized onions and the house Cali sauce. The plain smash burgers are a blend of Angus and American Wagyu, griddled with both grilled and raw onions, and run $7.50 for a single, $10.50 for a double and $13.50 for a triple.

The sides are not an afterthought. The fries are cooked in beef tallow, with a separate vegan fry available, and come loaded three ways — Gogi fries and birria fries at $15, loaded fries at $8.50 — with lemon pepper or Cajun seasoning and plain fries at $5. There is a house Angus beef chili served as a cup with freshly fried tortilla chips or poured over fries, six-piece wings in buffalo, lemon pepper or Cajun, a quarter-pound Hebrew National all-beef hot dog, a short kids' menu, and a $5 Puppy Patty — five ounces of unseasoned grilled beef, for the dog.

Vegetarian and vegan eaters are handled on the menu rather than as a special request. There is a BeyondMeat Vegetarian Single Smash at $9.50 that the business states becomes vegan if the cheese is left off, a $14 Cali Vegan on a potato bun with a house-made vegan Cali sauce, and a dedicated vegan fry.

One concrete thing worth knowing before you order. The truck is on Uber Eats, Postmates and DoorDash, and the delivery-platform menu is priced at a flat ten percent above the business's own: a single smash is $7.50 direct and $8.25 there, a stuffed burger $15 against $16.50, a plain large fry $5 against $5.50. We checked eighteen items and sixteen of them sit at exactly ten percent more. Ordering direct is cheaper on essentially everything.

Every price above is the truck's own retail menu, read from its own website. None of it is catering pricing — the catering side is quote-only and publishes no rates at all.

Catering & Pricing

Catering is quote-only and the business publishes no commercial terms at all. There is a dedicated Interested in Catering enquiry form taking first name, last name, email, and a single free-text field for type of event, number of meals, and date and time of service. Every field is free text, so there are no guest brackets to read off. No per-head price, guest minimum or maximum, minimum spend, lead time, travel fee, deposit or cancellation policy is published, and the site makes no statement about whether food is cooked on site or dropped off. That absence is the accurate final state, not a gap in the research. What the business does publish in full is its retail truck menu: smash burgers from $7.50 to $13.50, three stuffed burgers at $15 each, beef-tallow fries plain at $5 and loaded from $8.50 to $15, six-piece wings at $12, a quarter-pound hot dog at $7.50, and a house Angus beef chili. Those are single-serving retail prices and must never be read as catering rates, but they do give a buyer a usable sense of the kitchen's price level before the quote conversation starts. On dietary options the business is specific on its own menu rather than only on a platform listing: a BeyondMeat Vegetarian Single Smash at $9.50 that becomes vegan without cheese, a $14 Cali Vegan on a potato bun with a house-made vegan Cali sauce, and vegan fries on request. Its Yelp Services Offered block, carrying the Verified by Business marker, separately declares vegan catering and vegetarian catering.

Signature Dishes, As Guests Tell It

Quesabirria Stuffed Burger
★★★★★
I just inhaled my quessobirria stuffed burger and it was truly a life changing experience. I'm officially hooked and obsessed and I must try all the stuffed burgers now. My mom got the double smash burger and loved it.

Bulgogi Stuffed Burger & Birria Fries
★★★★★
Food truck parked outside Paperback Brewery, really close to Glendale Tap. Excellent place to get food to take to either of those places. Food was awesome. I had a stuffed bulgogi burger and birria fries. Just fantastic.

Chili Cheese Hot Dog & Cajun Fries
★★★★★
It was 100° outside and I saw that they had the option for a chili cheese hot dog. I asked them whether it was too hot out for chili, and with unquestionable confidence, I was told that it was still the move. I added some Cajun fries into the mix and even after tax and tip I was under $20.
