El Güero Food Truck is a downtown Los Angeles taco truck that sells its catering as a fixed, bookable package rather than a quote conversation — which, in this county, makes it the easiest of the three to price before you pick up the phone. Its own menu page bills the kitchen as “LA's Best Antojitos”; that is their claim, not ours.
The business describes itself as family-run and women-owned, and its own account of what it does is specific: fresh ingredients, handmade tortillas, and a clean kitchen named as a point of pride rather than assumed. It lists weddings, quinceañeras, birthdays, corporate events, school events and private celebrations among the work it takes on.
The retail menu is wider than the taquiza packages suggest, and it is worth reading before you brief them. Tacos are $3 each on handmade tortillas, dressed with cilantro, onion, radish and cucumber. The Faded Burger, the dish the truck is best known for, is $17 — a ground beef patty stuffed with Monterey jack, then built with bacon, avocado, chipotle sauce and American cheese. Munchie Fries at $16 layer nacho cheese, your choice of protein, Monterey cheese, pico de gallo, sour cream and the house secret sauce over fries. Beyond that there are plates and handhelds you would not expect from a taco truck: a three-piece Mulita Plate at $14.75, a Sopes Plate at $16 with beans, cotija and avocado, a Cubana torta at $17 stacked with milanesa, ham, bacon, sausage and pineapple on a telera roll, a Club Sandwich at $18, a California Burrito at $15.50 built with fries inside, and a Wet Burrito at $16 under tomatillo sauce. Tortas run $13.75, a flour quesadilla $11.50.
Two things in that list matter for catering briefs specifically. The first is breakfast — there is a Breakfast Burrito Original at $14 and chilaquiles at $14.75, which makes this one of the few trucks in this guide with a real morning menu rather than a lunch menu served early. The second is that vegetarians get more than a substitution: alongside the veggie protein on the taquiza packages there is a $12 garden salad with raspberry vinaigrette, feta, seeds, cucumber and avocado on the standing menu.
Those are single-serving retail prices from the business's own ordering site, not catering rates. The catering packages are priced separately and bookable online.
Three catering packages are published with prices and service windows on the business's own Square site, and all three can be booked online directly. The Taquiza for 50 Persons is $920 across a two-hour window, with a choice of asada, pastor, pollo and veggie, each taco finished with onion and cilantro, and radish, cucumber, lime and grilled serrano alongside; plasticware, agua fresca and the truck's red and green salsas are included. The Taquiza for 100 Persons is $1,970 across three hours and widens the spread to hot dogs and vampiros alongside the tacos, with agua fresca again included. The Most Wanted Taquiza is $7,670 across four hours and is the full range rather than a headcount tier — Faded Burgers, Munchie Fries, the bacon-wrapped LA Dog, tacos and agua fresca; the business does not state a guest count for it, so no per-person figure is published or implied. A veggie protein is offered on the taco packages. The one condition the business repeats on every package is practical: make sure there is space for the truck, or save the parking.
I am an event coordinator that works with Univision and we booked them for our soccer tournament. We had over 5,000 people at this one day event and his food truck was the top seller out of all the vendors at the event. He had over 250 orders that day. Food was absolutely delicious.
This was a great experience. Literally just did my baby shower today and went above and beyond. I just wanna thank them for being so professional on time and catering to all requests.
We recently hired El Güero for an event and were thoroughly impressed! El Güero's staff was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and prompt. All the attendees enjoyed the food, and appreciated the staff's dedication.
