Fire Mountain Pizza is a mobile wood-fired pizza and catering operation serving San Diego County. The business is built around chef Dan Pascarella, who his site says spent 25 years working in kitchens and pizzerias across the United States before starting it.
He grew up in Philadelphia — a city, as his About page puts it, where Italian restaurants sit on every corner — and he credits that market with teaching him early that surviving it meant serving something memorable made from fresh ingredients. His own travels in the U.S. and abroad, and a particular attachment to Italian food, are what his site names as the reason the business exists.
The oven travels. Fire Mountain brings a portable wood-fired oven to the event and bakes on site, which is the whole proposition — the pizza is served from the oven rather than held and transported. Their catering page describes sourcing that is local, seasonal and organic where possible, with dough made in house and an organic tomato sauce. Menus are built to the booking rather than ordered off a fixed list, and the site says vegetarian and vegan can be accommodated in that build. No per-person pricing, package tiers, guest minimums or lead times are published. Enquiries go through a short form on their contact page — name, email and a comment — or by phone.
Most catering requests sit unanswered — we make sure yours doesn't.
