Marée — Chef Marcus Jernmark built sister restaurant Marée directly above Lielle, which earned a Michelin star in June. Marée is the casual half of the pairing: a 70-seat bistro and wine bar with a chef's counter overlooking the open kitchen, drawing on both Paris and California — think a Rouge de Bordeaux levain with cultured butter, escargot beignets, and a hamburger au poivre. The counter and bar are walk-in only; the dining room takes walk-ins subject to availability. Confidence: Verified (LA Mag, Sept. 2, 2026).
Rumi's Kitchen — Chef Ali Mesghali's Persian restaurant group, which began in Atlanta in 2006 and has since opened in Georgia, Washington D.C. and Houston, brought its charcoal-fired menu to Century City on September 23 — its first West Coast location. The 310-seat space on Level 2 of Westfield Century City has an open kitchen, indoor and private dining, and an outdoor area styled after a Persian garden, with lamb lahmajun, kibbeh nayyeh and wagyu shish kebab on the menu. Confidence: Verified (WhatNow LA, Sept. 24, 2026).
Swingers (Silver Lake) — The second Swingers location opened at 3200 W. Sunset Blvd., the corner space that most recently held All Day Baby and Heavy Handed. Takeout began Oct. 20 from 6–9 p.m., with full dining service following and a complete dining room — plaid booths, mosaic tile, wood paneling — expected in December. The menu is planned to mirror the original Beverly Boulevard location. Confidence: Verified for location and dates (Eater LA via Hoodline); the operator of this specific location is reported but not independently confirmed — Needs validation.
Lucky's Steakhouse — The steakhouse concept Gene Montesano (co-founder of Lucky Brand Jeans) started in Montecito in 2000 opened its fifth location, and first in Los Angeles, in the Arts District in August. The 120-seat space has an indoor-outdoor patio shaded by olive trees, a curved marble-and-mahogany bar, and a menu built around dry-aged USDA Prime steaks, including a bone-in porterhouse, plus a Grand Marnier soufflé for dessert. Confidence: Verified for opening and location (Fabulous California, Aug. 13, 2026); exact opening day not published — Needs validation.
The Arepa Stand — Siblings Mercedes Rojas (a former chef de cuisine at Lucques) and Zeus Ferrini spent years selling at the Mar Vista, Playa Vista, Torrance, and Hollywood farmers markets before landing a permanent storefront at 12906 Venice Blvd. The menu names its arepas after LA neighborhoods and landmarks — The 405, The Hills, The Westsider. Open Tuesday–Sunday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.; closed Mondays. Confidence: Verified (Westside Current).
What to ask before you go
- At Swingers Silver Lake, call ahead before December — the takeout window and full dining room are on different timelines.
- At Marée, ask whether the counter or dining room has availability; walk-ins are first-come at the counter and bar.
- At Rumi's Kitchen, ask about the outdoor Persian garden seating if you want it — the main room seats 310 and books up on weekends.
- At Lucky's Steakhouse, reserve ahead; dinner-only hours and a 120-seat room mean weekend tables go fast.
- At The Arepa Stand, check the day — it's closed Mondays and keeps a single daytime window (8 a.m.–4 p.m.).
FAQs
Is Swingers Silver Lake open now?
Takeout service started October 20. The full dining room isn't expected until December, so confirm before planning a sit-down visit before then.
Do I need a reservation at Marée?
No reservation system is described for the counter or bar — those are walk-in only. The dining room takes walk-ins as space allows.
Is this Rumi's Kitchen's first Los Angeles location?
Yes. The Atlanta-born group's Century City restaurant, which opened September 23, is its first West Coast location after Georgia, Washington D.C. and Houston.
Is the new Swingers run by the same owner as the original?
Reporting ties the Silver Lake opening to Stephanie Wilson, who reopened the Beverly Boulevard Swingers in 2020, but it isn't explicitly confirmed as her project. We're flagging this one as unverified pending a direct source.
What makes Lucky's Steakhouse different from other new LA steakhouses?
Its lineage: the concept started in Montecito in 2000 from Lucky Brand Jeans co-founder Gene Montesano, and the Arts District location is only its fifth after Malibu, SoHo and East Hampton.
What makes The Arepa Stand different from other LA arepa spots?
It's run by siblings with real kitchen pedigree (Rojas previously cooked at Lucques), and its menu ties each arepa to a specific LA neighborhood rather than a generic category.
